The 4th round of Pakistan-Cuba Bilateral Political Consultations will be held in Havana, Cuba on 23 November 2016. Dr. Asad M. Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary will lead the Pakistan delegation, while the Cuban side will be headed by Mr. Rogelio Sierra Diaz, Vice Minister Foreign Affairs.
Pakistan considers Cuba as a close friend and an important partner and is keen to build a mutually beneficial development relationship. To this end, the two sides will avail the opportunity to review the whole gamut of bilateral relations and identify specific opportunities and possibilities for further strengthening bilateral cooperation. The evolving peace and security environment around both countries and mutual support and coordination on multilateral issues will also come under discussion during the Annual Consultations. The two sides will particularly look at expanding commercial sector cooperation and explore possibilities for enhanced collaboration in the field of education, health and medicine.
The Annual Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Cuba were institutionalized in 2009 with the first session convened in Islamabad on 6-8 November 2009.
