Ambassador of Pakistan Meets Russian Mountaineer Alexander Gukov at Vishnevsky Center of Surgery in Moscow
Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation Mr. Khalilullah Qazi visited Vishnevsky Center of Surgery in Moscow on 15 August 2018 to meet Mr. Alexander Gukov, Russian mountaineer who was rescued from Latok-I on 31st July 2018 by Pakistan Army Aviation helicopter pilots. He was accompanied by Lt. Col. Muhammad Anwar Khan, Attache Defence Procurement of the Embassy. They were very warmly received by the Chief Physician of the Center Mr. Fyodor Semyonov and senior officials of the Administration on arrival.
Ambassador Qazi conveyed best wishes for speedy recovery of Mr. Gukov, his good health and long life. Mr. Gukov expressed gratitude to Pakistan Army for saving his life. On behalf of the Embassy, Pakistani Souvenirs were presented to Mr. Gukov during the meeting.
During the visit, Ambassador also met Dr. Amiran Revishvili, Chief Surgeon of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation. He expressed appreciation for the high quality of medical care provided to Mr. Gukov at Pakistan Military hospitals before his transportation to Moscow.
The Chief Surgeon briefed the Ambassador about the facilities available at the Vishnevsky Center of Surgery for medical treatment, in particular, at its "Burns Center" where patients with up to ninety percent burns had been treated successfully.
Ambassador and the Chief Surgeon agreed to explore possibilities for cooperation between the Vishnevsky Center of Surgery and relevant medical institutions of Pakistan.
