HE Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate welcomed at his Office earlier today, Mr. Raid Abdullah Ali Al Araimi, Vice Chairman Al Raid Group who was accompanied with Mr. Fahad Salah Mohammad Al Hasani, Secretary to Vice Chairman.

Extending a warm welcome, the Ambassador accorded a comprehensive briefing on the status of bilateral relations with focus on trade, investments and initiatives to furthering people to people exchanges such as ‘#PakistanAwaits’, the adventures into northern areas of Pakistan known as the ‘Roof of the World’, ‘Civil Societies Dialogue’, on historical linkages and future cooperation, ‘Young Pakistan Forum Oman, (www.YPFO.pk), online platform for youths, Lecture Series whose 2nd edition is being launched in 2018, ‘WhatsApp Broadcast’ (14,000 subscribers) and e-mail Bank (11,000).

The Ambassador also outlined the performance of Pak Oman Investment Company and the complete spectrum of bilateral accords being finalised to foster further cooperation and consolidate relations, ‘Joint Business Council’ as well as plans to establish ‘Oman Pakistan Friendship Association’.

While outlining the 5.2% growth attained in 2017 and the $2.5Bn FDI in 2016-17, the Ambassador invited Mr. Araimi to benefitting from one of the best ‘investment policy’ which Pakistan offered along with lucrative opportunities in Automobile, Energy, Oil Refining, Tourism, Retail and Housing sectors.

Mr. Araimi expressed appreciation for the general elections in Pakistan and the growing opportunities for progress and development. He praised the services of Pakistanis in building and modernizing Oman and expressed keen interest in partnering in the outreach initiatives.

Appreciating the quality of Pakistani products such as fresh meat, rice, mangoes and citrus fruit, observed with satisfaction that Al Ariami Group had outsourced 20% marble for their upcoming Boulevard Mall from Pakistan and praised the quality of Pakistani onyx.

Adding that Al Araimi Group is poised to establish largest Retail Mall in Oman which would outsize the under construction Mall of Oman, Mr. Araimi expressed keen interest to study investment opportunities in Pakistan and invited the Ambassador to visit his projects. He was presented with Embassy’s Newsletter and world renowned Pakistani basmati rice.
