Joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1992.

Currently, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Swiss Confederation, in Berne, Switzerland, also accredited to the State of the Holy See and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Held diplomatic assignments in the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, New York, (2010-2014); Embassy of Pakistan, Cairo, Egypt (2007-2010); High Commission for Pakistan, London, UK (2004-2005); and Embassy of Pakistan, Berne, Switzerland (1997-2000).

Served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad as Director General, Economic Coordination & Organization of Islamic Cooperation (2014-2017) and in the Directorates of Audit & Inspection (2005-2007); Americas (2003-2004); Europe (2000-2002); and Americas (1994-1996).

A graduate of Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore as well as of Government College University, Lahore, Pakistan.

Married to Aneela. They have two children – Qasim and Amina.
