Dr. Manzoor A. Chaudhry, Consul General hosted an Iftar dinner at the Consulate for the representatives of Pakistan community on Friday, May 10, 2019. A cross section of the political and religious parties attended the dinner. A large number of Pakistani journalists attended as well. The Officers and the staff members of the Consulate were also present. Renowned Pakistani Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali Shah and poet Mahjabeen Ghazal Ansari were especially invited for the event.
The National Anthem was played followed by recitation from the Holy Quran by Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali Shah. Ms. Ansari recited Na�t which was liked by the audience. Qari Sadaqat Ali Shah read Paigham-e-Pakistan and said terrorism has no place in Islam and Pakistan. He praised the sacrifices made by the Nation and the Security Forces in fighting the scourge of terrorism.
In his speech, Consul General welcomed the representatives of the community. He stated that unity among the Pakistani community was the need of the hour. He said all possible efforts were being made to provide standard consular services to the applicants and that steps would be taken to further streamline those services.
Prayers were offered for progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Dinner was served at the end of the programme.
