“Government of Prime Minister Imran Khan assigns high priority to Economic and Trade Diplomacy as Well as Investment Promotions”, said Raza Bashir Tarar, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Canada while addressing Canada Pakistan Affiliated Chamber of Trade (CPACT) Annual Choice Awards ceremony held at Montreal.
High Commissioner Tarar informed the Chamber that business delegations of Chambers of Commerce and other business houses regularly attend the food, textile, construction industry and ICT-related exhibitions in Canada every year. However, there is lack of reciprocal visits from Canada. “I would therefore urge CPACT to plan business delegation visits to Pakistan in 2020”, he added. He said that Pakistan’s Missions abroad are striving to synergize efforts with Diaspora members for mutual benefit of Pakistan and their adopted countries.
High Commissioner emphasized the diaspora members to sensitise their interlocutors about the Kashmir Dispute. Canada has an impressive record of raising its voice against human rights violations anywhere in the world, he added. He urged the Canadian and international community to call upon India to end the curfew, humanitarian catastrophe and human rights abuses in IOK.
The High Commissioner concluded by congratulating the winners of the CPACT Choice Awards and thanked CPACT members and the volunteers for organizing such a well-attended event.
