Embassy of Islamic Republic of Niger celebrated Defense Day of Pakistan on 11 September 2020. The Minister of Hydraulic & Sanitation Mr. Gado Sabo Moctar was the guest of honor. The Ambassador Mr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey in his speech gave details of the war including causes. He said the major reason was and remains is Kashmir. Indian occupation and brutalities are going on. The international community must play its role to resolve this longstanding issue that caused enmity between Pakistan and India. People of Pakistan stood with the Armed Forces and foiled the attempt of enemy. In 2019, once again Pakistan sent clear message that each intrusion would get befitting response. At the same time, we offered olive branch by releasing captured pilot.
The Defense Adviser Col. Iftikhar Khattala gave salient on 1965 war and role of Armed Forces. He also highlighted Pakistan’s role in war on terrorism. The preparedness of Pakistan for any eventuality.
Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentarians, Civil and Defense officers, Resident Ambassadors and High Comissioners, Defence Attaches, Civil Society Activists, Academia, Business Community, Media members and Pakistani community members living in Niamey attended the event. The 120 Guests appreciated the Embassy for hosting the Reception, efforts to promote awareness on Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns and contributions to global peace and security especially through sustained and highest participation in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKOs) as well continued commitment to further bilateral friendship and cooperation. While looking at the facts about Pakistan and worth visiting places, the ministers desired that they would like to visit Pakistan at the first available opportunity. The business community showed readiness and keenness to explore Pakistan. The Ambassador thanked everyone and invited for a sumptuous Pakistani dinner.
