A National Day reception was held at the Chancery premises on 25 March 2019, which was attended by a large number of Mexican dignitaries, Ambassadors, members of diplomatic community, businessmen and members of media. Ms. Amparo Erendira Anguiano Rodriguez, Head of Directorate General for Africa and Middle East represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mexico. The reception began with the playing of national anthems of both countries, which was followed by remarks by Ambassador Tasawar Khan.
Ambassador Khan highlighted the significance of 23 March 1940 in the journey towards the emergence of Pakistan. He shared the vision of the new leadership in Pakistan for socio-economic development and progress. He highlighted the business and investment opportunities emerging out of the projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor. He also underscored Pakistan’s efforts and contribution towards regional and international peace and security. Appreciating the cordial relations between Pakistan and Mexico, he stressed upon the need to reopen the Mexican Embassy in Islamabad to mutually benefit from the ample scope that exists for further development of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Mexico.
