Former Federal Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan while addressing Pakistani Canadian community said that it is important for the Community to promote involvement in the mainstream by understanding issues facing the community through meetings, cultural exchanges and interactions and to build a lasting bridge between Pakistan and Canada.

She emphasized that the Pakistani community represent Pakistan abroad and they must work together in unity to achieve their collective objectives. ‘We need to become a united force to claim our due political strength in mainstream Canadian politics,’ she added.

She underlined that the Community organisations can bring entire diversity together to address serious issues facing the community at large and promote understating and positive relations through seminars, conventions and cultural events.
