H.E Mr. KK Ahsan Wagan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, called on His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik bin Taimour al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Oman at his office to congratulate him on his recent appointment on behalf of Pakistani Leadership and Minister of Defence.
During the meeting, various areas of bilateral cooperation including political, trade, investment and CPEC with a special focus on defence ties between two countries were discussed. Ambassador briefed him about Pakistan’s strength in various sectors such as defence production, information technology, agriculture and fisheries.
Ambassador appreciated Oman Government’s efforts to curb global COVID-19 pandemic and also acknowledged Oman’s continuous support during the repatriation of stranded Pakistan nationals back to Pakistan. The announcement of General Amnesty by the Government of Oman was also highly appreciated by the Ambassador.
His Highness Sayyid Shihab acknowledged the historical linkages between Pakistan and Oman and offered his appreciation to Embassy’s initiative of conducting the webinar on Oman’s 50th National Day. While acknowledging the strong defence ties, he expressed his willingness to work closely with Pakistan to further enhance cooperation in the field of defence.
