Overview

Interns at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have an opportunity to acquire knowledge about the Foreign policy of Pakistan and gain valuable professional experience through exposure to nuances of diplomacy.  The internship will offer a conducive environment for the interns to utilize their fresh perspectives to promote interests of Pakistan abroad.

The Internship Policy of the Ministry of foreign Affairs focuses on internship programme that provides learning opportunities to undergraduate students or fresh graduates,provided that the student is 20years and above and less than 28 years of age.

 

Duration, vacancies and placement

Duration:

Ministry of Foreign Affairs will accommodate interns throughout the year, especially during June-September (Semester breaks in most of the Universities). The interns can apply any time of the year. Once started, the duration of the internship will be from 6 to 8 weeks.

Vacancies:

The vacancies offered every year will be based on number of learning assignments and availability of officers to supervise the interns. However, a maximum number of 15 interns can be accommodated at a given time in the Ministry.

Placement:

Interns will be accommodated as per the need and requirement of Divisions of the Ministry. The movement of interns shall be restricted and strictly supervised by the Division.

An intern who has successfully completed attachment with any one Division in the Ministry, may subsequently apply for attachment with another Division. However, preference shall be given to fresh candidates.

 

Internship Contract and Non-Disclosure of Confidential Information

The interns shall sign an internship contract and a Non-Disclosure Agreement with the Ministry for the purpose of preventing the unauthorized disclosure of confidential information during and after the internship.

 

Nature of Engagement

The internship programme at the headquarters will include attachment with one Division in the Ministry. The interns will have an orientation session from their supervising officer(s).

The program will entail structured assignments with appropriate supervision, evaluation and feedback from the supervising officer. They may be required to do the following:

·       Conduct Research

·       Analyze evolving developments and write reports

·       Carry out any other task assigned by the supervising officer(s)

 

Mode of Application

Interested candidates may apply with their CVs along with a personal statement between 500-1000 words, attaching 3 passport size photographs, Transcript/Degree, Testimonials, Matriculation Certificate, CNIC, NOC from the University (in case the student is currently pursuing a degree), complete residential address and phone number.
