The Embassy of Pakistan, Athens observed “Kashmir Solidarity Day” by holding a Special Seminar for journalists and analysts of Greece and Pakistan on February 5, 2018. The purpose was to encourage local media and think tanks to provide informed coverage about the plight of occupied Kashmir and the human rights violation by the Indian forces. Senior journalists and analysts from major news-agencies/TV channels and think tanks participated in the event.
In a power point presentation on dynamics of South Asia and Pakistan’s Foreign Policy, the Ambassador provided background of the South Asian region and Pakistan’s policies. Major focus was given to the Kashmir issue, including recent unrest in the occupied valley. Pictures of victims of Indian brutalities in the occupied Kashmir, especially use of pallet guns and braid chopping were shown. Short documentaries about various aspects of Kashmir issue was presented to the audience. Statistics of the number of people martyred, raped, maimed, injured, partially or fully blinded was shared with the journalists. They were briefed about the truth regarding the Indian propaganda and its involvement in subversive activities inside Pakistan. Afterwards a question/answer session was held. The journalists and analysts took keen interest in the session.
