Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning and Development, visited Bangkok on 26 June 2013. During his visit he held a meeting with His Excellency Mr. Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisan, Minister-in-Charge for National Economic and Social Development Board. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Ambassador Syed Tariq Fatemi, Ms. Nargis Sethi, Secretary, Economic Affairs Division, and Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Pakistan, Mr. Ata-ul-Munim Shahid, also participated in the meeting. They discussed the planning and development model of Thailand with emphasis on monitoring and evaluation mechanism in Thailand. The Thai side expressed the willingness to share their experience with Pakistan. Both sides agreed to continue further collaboration in the planning and development field. They also agreed to organize a workshop in Pakistan and to conduct joint studies for economic and trade development. Both the Minister also discussed bilateral political, trade and commercial relations and showed their satisfaction over the steady growth of bilateral relations in all fields. The two Minister also emphasized on need to continue high-level exchanges between the two countries.
