The third edition of virtual e-katchehry started two months ago to interact once every month with the overseas Pakistanis, was arranged by Pakistan High Commission and its Consulates in Canada to hear out concerns, grievances and issues of the community members and resolve them in real time.

Today’s session of online public hearing launched on the instruction of the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan to ensure a quick resolution of their issues and prompt delivery of consular services, was chaired by Pakistan High Commissioner Mr. Raza Bashir Tarar who made the introductory and concluding remarks, while Consul Generals of Pakistan in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal addressed the queries and replied to participants. A number of issues, including enhancement of bilateral trade, opportunities for increasing imports and exports between Pakistan and Canada, online provision of NICOP, visa and other services and facilitation for opening Roshan Digital Accounts (RDAs) came up under discussion.

High Commissioner Raza Bashir Tarar told the community members Pakistan High Commission and its Consulates were always ready to extend any help or assistance to the fellow Pakistanis in provision of consular services. He also announced to share coordinates of Toronto-based Trade and Investment Mission of Pakistan with the Pakistani community to provide them regular assistance and guidance for their business and trade ventures.

Raza Bashir Tarar also drew the attention of the community members to a series of webinars the High Commission and its Consulate in Toronto had arranged during the last few months on opening Roshan Digital Accounts and increasing Pakistani exports to Canada in the food and beverages, textile and leather sectors. He said the proceedings of those webinars were available on social media accounts of the High Commission for guidance and reference.
