THE Islamic Republic of Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam as part of its series of Sungkai for orphans and physically challenged went to Kuala Belait and arranged a Sungkai dinner at Brunei Shell Recreation Club, Seria. The Belait District Officer, Haji Haris bin Othman, was the guest of honour.

The Acting High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam Ahmed Ali Sirohey and the district officer handed over gifts to the children after Doa Tahlil. Members of Pakistan community were also present at the event. The attendees included 100 orphans and their family members. The sungkai was arranged for 238 persons in the club.

The acting high commissioner said that our Prophet (pbuh) directed us to “Be merciful with the orphan, pat his head and feed him from what you eat. This will soften your heart, and enable you to get what you need.” He further said, “The best house is a house in which orphans are well treated.”

The district officer appreciated the efforts of the High Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to help orphans.

He congratulated the envoy for being given chance by Allah the Almighty to serve and win the blessings in the month of Ramadhan. He said that it is an opportunity given to Pakistan High Commission to go across the Sultanate for the noble cause. “May Allah accept your efforts,” he added.
