Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam organized ” Biryani Night ” to showcase Pakistan cuisine for the people of Brunei Darussalam at B.B.Q Tonight Restaurant, Kiulap. A large number of Bruneians, Government and Diplomatic community attended the event. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali Bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

Mr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey, Acting High Commissioner thanked the Honourable Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism for attending the event. He further said that Pakistan has more than 300 dishes across the country. Pakistan a country of 211 million people is spread on more than 800,000 square km. There are 36 rice-based dishes including half dozen types of Biryani and another half dozen Pulao dishes. Mutton, seafood, and vegetable dishes are cooked in local spices. A typical Pakistani restaurant in a buffet offers almost 100 dishes to the customers. A four-star restaurant in Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad offers buffet dinner with 100 dishes on offer in just BND18/ per person. Moreover, the street food is so cheap and delicious that many tourists tasted it and appreciated the quality and taste. He further invited the guests to visit Pakistan and taste the wide variety of delicacies there. Before departing to Pakistan; the food can be tasted at this and other Pakistani restaurants in Brunei. The Acting High Commissioner presented token of appreciation to the honorable Minister and Madam presented souvenir to honourable Datin.

The invited guests were served Sindhi Biryani and Masala Biryani. The guests enjoyed the delicacies and wished to explore more Pakistanis dishes.
