PWAM is the most active and interactive organization in the State of Michigan. Pakistan Women’s Association of Michigan owns and operate Fatima Jinnah Transitional Home provides temporary housing and other supporting services for displaced women, while assisting them to become self-sufficient by identifying their own strengths and solutions through housing stability, educational advancement, economic independence, mental health and spiritual growth. During COVID-19 Fatima Jinnah House became a quarantine place for women who did not have a place of their own. They were provided internet access, groceries and a safe environment. To help contain the COVID-19 spread and ease the financial burden, PWAM sent out shipments of masks and grocery gift cards to several hundred families in Pakistani-American community. PWAM also joined other charitable organizations in the area to work with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and distribute fresh produce and dairy products to thousands of families to assist during COVID-19 crisis.
