Today, a special flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) arrived in Amman, Jordan for evacuation of stranded Pakistanis from Jordan and Syria who were stuck here due to closure of air flights in the wake of spread of COVID-19.
119 Pakistanis were repatriated in this special flight including 16 Pakistanis who came from Syria by road. 63 members of Pakistan Tablighi Jamaat were also included in the repatriated Pakistanis. Moreover, 13 Jordanian Army Personnel also travelled to Pakistan in this flight to complete their ongoing military trainings in Pakistan. The Embassy Team escorted the stranded Pakistanis to the Airport.
The same flight, while coming to Amman from Lahore, also brought 97 stranded Jordanians from Pakistan.
The Embassy would like to extend its gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as well as all concerned Jordanian authorities for extending their cooperation for arranging this special flight.
