The auspicious Pakistan Day 2021 flag-hoisting ceremony was organized in the High Commission for Pakistan in Dar esSalaam, United Republic of Tanzania,on 23 March 2021 morning. A large number of the Pakistan Community members along with families and their Tanzanian friends attended the function.
The joyful Pakistan Day festivity started with playing of the National Anthem and the National flag-hoisting by the High Commissioner followed by recitation of the Holy Quran. Special messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion were readout by High CommissionerMuhammad Saleem.
In his remarks, Mr. Saleem paid tribute to the founding fathers of Pakistan whose services and sacrifices led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Sub-continent. The High Commissioner thanked the vibrant Pakistani Diaspora in Tanzania for their invaluable contribution to strengthening economic, trade and people to people relations between the two friendly countries.
One-minute silence was observed to pay homage to late Tanzanian President H.E. Dr. John P. J. Magufuli, who unfortunately passed away on March 17, 2021. The High Commissioner also advised the Diaspora members to continue taking all possible safety measures and to follow the SOPs for international travel in order to avoid Covid-19 pandemic.
