The Embassy of Pakistan organized a Roundtable Conference on “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Towards a New International Order” at the Centre of Global Studies at the Czech Academy of Sciences on 24 May 2018.
Dr. Kiran Hassan, Scholar at School of Advanced Studies, The University of London and Commonwealth delivered a key note address on the subject. She underscored the role of CPEC in shifting international order to Asia, Mr. Marek Hrubec, Director of Centre of Global Studies at the Czech Academy of Sciences gave introductory remarks. Ambassador Dr. Israr Hussain, while delivering his address highlighted enormous opportunities being offered to friendly countries in CPEC. He invited Czech entrepreneurs and businessmen to reap dividends of flourishing economy of Pakistan. Ambassador of People’s Republic of China Ma Keqing stated that CPEC is a lynchpin of Belt and Road Initiative of President Xi Jinping’s vision. She added that OBOR will transform the economy of involved regions with 3 billion peoples.
The Conference was attended by Czech Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director for Asia and Pacific Region, Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, several Ambassadors including CEEC+1 nations, Members of the European Parliament, Czech Chamber of Commerce, entrepreneurs, think-tanks, academicians, journalists, students and members of Pakistani community.
