HE Ali Javed, the Ambassador of Pakistan joined Their Excellencies Majid Al Rouahi, Mohammad Al Rawas and Mahfoodh Al Wahaibi, Honorable members State Council (Upper House) to welcome Honorable Senators HE Mir Kabeer Ahmed and HE Ashok Kumar Ratnani at Muscat Airport, moments earlier.

The delegation is visiting the brotherly Sultanate from March 17-21. Their visit comes within the framework of ‘MoU for Cooperation between the Upper Houses’, signed here in Muscat by Hon’ble Chairman Senate of Pakistan HE Sadiq Sanjrani and Chairman State Council of Oman Honorable HE Dr. Yahya al Mantheri on Nov 19, 2018.

The Ambassador welcomed the visit as a perfect occasion for furthering bilateral relations adding that it was aligned with ongoing celebrations of ‘Pakistan Day’ across Oman.

The Ambassador underlined that the two Senators brought added significance to bilateral relations. “Whereas Senator Shahi represents Balochistan and over 1/3rd Omanis are Baloch, Senator Kumar hails from ‘Kalaat’ whose Prince (Nawab of Kalaat) gifted Gwadar to former Sultan of Oman in 1783, tying tied both nations in blood-bond for 175 years, the period for which Gwadar remained part of Sultanate”.

The delegation shall call on Leaders of Upper & Lower Houses, convene inaugural meeting of ‘Friendship Committee’ and meet HE Yahya Jabri and HE Qais al Yousef, Chairmen Pak-Oman Investment Company and Oman Chambers of Commerce respectively.

Meeting with HE Dr. Ahmed Al Futaisi, Minister Transport & Communications is also set in addition to a briefing from Foreign Secretary of Oman, HE Dr. Mohammed Al Hassan.

It is recalled that Reverend Zeresh Daniel was accorded the title from the 3000 Pakistanis with Christian faith residing in the Sultanate, during the historic ‘Community Interaction’ with over 1000 Pakistanis on margins of the visit of HE Shah Mahmood Qureshi Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Pakistan to Muscat from January 29-31, 2019.

The Ambassador is marking the visit with a Reception Dinner at ‘Pakistan House’ for over 100 guests invited from Muscat, Musannah Nizwah, Sohar, Ibri, Ibra, Barka, Suwaiq and Buraimi and shall announce on the occasion, the appointment of “Honorary Advisor to Ambassador for Interfaith Harmony & National Integration” to the consensus nominee of 1500 Pakistanis with Hindu faith in Oman.
