Mr. Gonzalo Maria Quintero Saravia, outgoing Ambassador of Spain to Pakistan, paid a farewell call on Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar today.
The Foreign Minister stated that Pakistan enjoyed excellent relations with Spain and underlined the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and investment, especially in the renewable energy sector. Discussing the situation in Afghanistan, the Foreign Minister noted that peace and stability in Afghanistan is in Pakistan’s strategic interest.
Ambassador Saravia informed the Foreign Minister that he was a candidate for the new post of Director Counter Terrorism Implementation Task Force in the UN Secretariat in New York and sought Pakistan’s support to his candidature. The Foreign Minister wished him well in the forthcoming elections.
