Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs receives Ms. Maria Aurora Meijia Errasquim, Spanish Ambassador on Special Mission for Afghanistan and Pakistan
Ms. Maria Aurora Meijia Errasquim, Spanish Ambassador on Special Mission for Afghanistan and Pakistan called on Syed Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs.
SAPM stated that Pakistan-Afghanistan relations were on an upward trajectory in all areas and the two were involved in comprehensively upgrading their ties in all fields. He reiterated Pakistan's firm commitment to take forward the process of constructive engagement with Afghanistan. While referring to the recent visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Kabul, he stated that it had further strengthened the momentum of improvement of Pakistan-Afghanistan.
Syed Tariq Fatemi highlighted Pakistan's efforts for peace and development in Afghanistan at bilateral, regional and international level. He said that Pakistan supported an Afghan-led and Afghan owned reconciliation process.
He said that Pakistan would be holding the Ministerial Meeting of the Heart of Asia Process in fall this year. The SOM Meeting held today in which Pakistan was a co-chair with Afghanistan was productive.
Ms. Errasquim, appreciated the efforts undertaken by Pakistan to promote the objectives of peace, stability and economic development of the region and commended Pakistan's constructive role in this regard.
