The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Coordinates International Assistance to Control Dengue Fever
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with all concerned authorities within the country in the national efforts to control dengue by interfacing with friendly countries/international organizations.
Pakistan Missions in countries that have suffered dengue fever outbreaks and have successfully controlled it, have been instructed to approach their host governments to provide their expertise in dealing with the epidemic in Pakistan.
The Emergency Relief Cell (ERC) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which is coordinating incoming international flood relief assistance is also coordinating international assistance to combat dengue fever.
On the request of our Ambassador in Jakarta, the Indonesian Government has decided to send a 19-member medical team to Pakistan. The Indonesian team comprises doctors and field staff who will work with the Punjab health authorities, as decided by the Federal Government.
