Mr. Song Jong Hwan, the outgoing Ambassador of Republic of Korea, paid his farewell call on Syed Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs this afternoon. The SAPM underscored that Pakistan and Republic of Korea enjoyed long standing, friendly relations and these relations had grown over the years in all fields, especially in trade and investment. He appreciated the outstanding contribution made by the Ambassador in further strengthening the existing bilateral friendly ties, particularly by materializing high level visits, such as that of the Speaker National Assembly and the Prime Minister of RoK to Pakistan in 2014. Moreover, the significant increase in Economic Development Fund (EDCF) from US$ 180 million to US$500 million was also a hallmark achievement of the Ambassador.
Ambassador Song expressed his sincere gratitude for the support and cooperation extended by the Government and people of Pakistan in making his stay here in Pakistan productive and fruitful. At the end, the SAPM expressed his best wishes to the outgoing Ambassador in his future endeavors.
