Pakistanis holding Italian resident permits who are returning to Italy after staying in Pakistan, are advised to take the following into account regarding their duration of stay in Pakistan:
“The bearer of a valid resident permit is allowed to leave Italy for no more than six months if the permit has been issued for one year. If the permit has been issued for two years or more, the bearer is allowed to leave Italy for one year.
The bearer of an expired permit, provided he can produce the receipt of the application (by the Post Office in Italy) for the renewal within the period of validity of the previous one, can leave Italy for no more than 60 days.
All those who cannot comply with the rules mentioned above must apply for a re-entry visa.”
