Visit of World Health Organization (WHO), Dengue Fever Expert team to Pakistan on 25 September 2011
World Health Organization (WHO), Dengue Fever Expert team will arrive in Islamabad on Sunday, 25 September 2011.
Our Permanent mission Geneva has informed the Ministry that the World Health Organization (WHO’s) response to the dengue fever shall cover both short and long term strategies to counter the disease outbreak.
In the short term, the World Health Organization (WHO) will assess the situation on ground with regard to epidemiology and entomology of the disease. They will also look into measures for the elimination of breeding sites, prevalence of insecticide resistance and vector control measures. In the long term, World Health Organization (WHO) is looking for building a comprehensive plan of action including local capacity building for surveillance.
