Pakistan Study Center in Sichuan University organized a symposium of Pakistani students currently studying in Sichuan University. The Consul General Mr. Muhammad Mudassir Tipu was invited as Chief Guest. In his remarks, the Consul General highlighted the very special nature of Pakistan-China ties and the significance of CPEC in further strengthening this relationship. He also underscored the important opportunity available to the Pakistani students for studying the Chinese model of development, as Chengdu was now the focal point for implementing Chinese government’s policy of developing China’s Western region. He also emphasized that the students can play an important role in promoting understanding about Pakistan’s culture and society in China. The consul General also stressed the need for the students to learn from China’s best practices and implement these in their work places on return to Pakistan.
In his remarks, the Executive Dean Prof. Li briefed about the history of Sichuan University and the Pakistan Study Center. He expressed the hope that Pakistani students will benefit from the excellent educational and research environment provided by the Sichuan University.
During Q&A, the Pakistani students shared their experiences in China. They also put forward a proposal to further strengthening Pakistan’s educational ties with Sichuan Province. The Consul General assured the students that the Government of Pakistan will continue to take all necessary measures to provide the best educational and research opportunities for Pakistani students both at home and abroad.
