The Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi chaired the sixth meeting of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs at the Foreign Ministry today.
Members of the Council including former Ambassadors, experts and senior officials participated in the meeting.
The Advisory Council discussed regional and international developments.
In his remarks, the Foreign Minister highlighted Pakistan’s active engagements with the regional countries and the international community with a view to promote peace and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships. In this regards, the Council also discussed recently held review session of the Afghanistan- Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS) and Prime Minister’s participation in the 14th session of OIC Conference in Makkah.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureshi emphasized that Pakistan remained committed to durable peace and stability in Afghanistan which is a pre-requisite for development and prosperity of Afghanistan and the region.
The Council also discussed measures to deepen trade and investment linkages by strengthening efforts in the area of economic diplomacy
The Foreign Minister welcomed the contribution of the members of the Advisory Council.
The seventh meeting of the Council is expected to be held in July.
