Pakistanis in Vienna express solidarity with Kashmiris at the 73rd Independence Day

Pakistan Embassy in Vienna today organised a simple and dignified flag hoisting ceremony at the premises of the Embassy to mark country’s 73rd Independence Day. The members of Pakistan community in Austria from different towns and cities attended this ceremony to demonstrate their love, affection and jubilation for their beloved country. The occasion was also designated as Solidarity Day with the struggle for the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their right to self-determination.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Austria Mansoor Ahmad Khan hoisted the flag over the tune of national anthem which was recited by the Pakistanis with full vigour and passion. Messages of the President and the Prime Minister at this year’s Independence Day were read out.

Ambassador Mansoor Ahmad Khan speaking at this occasion said that while celebrating this year’s Independence Day with Pakistani community in Austria they were expressing full solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir. He emphasized that Pakistan Embassy and Pakistan community in Vienna were engaged in relaying a strong message to their interlocutors that the recent Indian actions being a violation of the UN Security Council Resolutions should be reversed and there was need for working out a process for resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UNSC resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiris. He added that it was imperative for addressing the human rights and humanitarian situation and the threat to regional peace and security.

Ambassador appreciated members of Pakistan community for their efforts in projecting the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.
