75th Independence Day, 14 August 2021 was celebrated in a simple, but graceful manner in the newly established Pakistan High Commission’s Chancery building. The celebration started with flag hoisting ceremony in the Chancery. Due to the host government’s COVID SOPs, around 20 Pakistani notables participated in the event.  Families of the Mission’s officers and staff also participated. Messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion were read out to the audience.

The High Commissioner in his brief speech, highlighted the sacrifices of the Pakistan Movement leaders, especially the Founding Father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He updated the audience on the present govt. polices for socio- economic development in the country. He briefly highlighted the Government of Pakistan efforts and support for the resolution of Kashmir dispute according to the relevant UNSC resolutions. He also updated the audience on the government of Pakistan policy for facilitation in negotiations for peaceful and political solution of the Afghan issue.

As a new Mission, over 100 flower plants and some trees were planted in the premises of the High Commission. After the ceremony, the guests were served refreshments and Pakistani Cuisine.
