The Foreign Minister chaired 9th meeting of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs at the Foreign Ministry on 17 September 2019.

The meeting was attended by the Foreign Secretary, former Ambassadors, academics and policy experts.

The meeting discussed the situation arising from India’s unilateral action and the violations of human rights in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. The Foreign Minister informed the participants about his recent engagements with international community including his visit to Geneva to attend the 42nd session of the Human Rights Council.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that the joint statement on the situation in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir by over 50 countries was a strong vindication of Pakistan’s concerns on the human rights violations in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. In this regard, the Advisory Council also discussed Pakistan continued outreach to the International community.

The Foreign Minister appreciated contribution of the members of the Council in supporting efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to extend diplomatic and moral support to the people of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
