A four-member army delegation from JSHQ headed by Lt. General Azhar Abbas, Director General, Joint Staff Hqrs. visited Manila

A four-member army delegation from JSHQ headed by Lt. General Azhar Abbas, Director General, Joint Staff Hqrs. visited Manila from 17-19 June 2019 on the invitation of General Benjamin R Madrigal Jr., Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). In addition to holding official level talks at the AFP Headquarters, the delegation visited the office of Secretary (Minister), Department of Defence Mr. Delfin Lorenzana for a courtesy call. Ambassador also accompanied the delegation for this meeting. Secretary Lorenzana warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed the hope of upgradation of defence cooperation to higher levels in the near future. Both sides agreed to expedite the signing of the MoU on Defence Cooperation which would form the basis for this upgradation.
