Additional Foreign Secretary passes away

It is announced with deep sorrow and grief that Ms. Shireen A. Moiz, Additional Foreign Secretary passed away at 2300 hrs on 20th March, 2009 at Islamabad.

Her Nimaz-i-Janaza would be offered at 1330 hrs on Sunday, 22nd March, 2009 at Motamar-e-Alam-e-Islami Masjid, near F-6 Markaz (Super Market), Islamabad.

The late Shireen Moiz was born in March 1950 and joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in March 1978. In her diplomatic career spanning over a period of thirty years, she served in various Pakistan Missions abroad including New York, Kathmandu, London and Kuala Lumpur, making eminent contributions towards promoting Pakistan’s interests. She also served as Ambassador of Pakistan to Bosnia and Herzegovina. She had served the country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with dedication and distinction.
