Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser on Foreign Affairs, who is in Kuwait to participate in the 42nd OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting, met with His Excellency Sheikh Sabah Al- Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait on 26th May, 2015.
The meeting, which took place in the backdrop of the serious issues confronting the region, provided a valuable opportunity for the two sides to explore the role that OIC can play in dealing with these issues.
The Adviser briefed the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister on improvement in relations with Afghanistan and the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and China, notably the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor project.
The two Ministers reviewed the entire range of bilateral relations. The Adviser raised the difficulties faced by Pakistanis in getting Kuwaiti visas, which has also affected the bilateral trade relations. They discussed the possibility of Kuwaiti investments and ways to expand bilateral trade.
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s positive role in the OIC.
