Khalid Hussain Khan Gudaro
Ambassador Khalid Hussain Khan Gudaro joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan on 1st September 1999, after qualifying the Combined Competitive Examination for the Central Superior Services of Pakistan (CSS), conducted by the Federal Public Services Commission, Islamabad. He initially underwent the training at the Civil Services Academy, Lahore and later on in the Foreign Service Academy in Islamabad.
Mr. Gudaro, born in 1971 in Dadu city of Sindh province of Pakistan has Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA with Honors) as well as Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.
Before joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Gudaro started his career with working in the Engro Chemicals Pakistan Limited (formerly known as Exxon Chemicals) as Sales / Marketing Officer from 1992-1993. From 1993-1994, he managed his family agricultural land. In 1995, he joined the National Bank of Pakistan after qualifying the Combined Competitive Examination conducted by the Pakistan Banking and Finance Services Commission and secured 53rd Position in Pakistan. He worked in various departments of the National Bank until August 1999, when he resigned from the Bank and joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan.
At headquarters Mr. Gudaro has worked as Section / Desk Officer: India (2000) and Americas (2001-2002), Deputy Director: Central Asian Republics (2006), Director: Central Asian Republics (2006), South East Asia and Pacific Region (2007-2008), Africa (2012-2013), Arab Affairs (2015) and Policy Planning & Public Diplomacy (2021-2022), and Director General: Policy Planning and Public Diplomacy (2022-2023). He also worked as Protocol Officer (2009).
Mr. Gudaro held the following diplomatic assignments abroad:
Third / Second Secretary Algiers, Algeria (2003-2006), First Secretary Tripoli, Libya (2009-2012), Counsellor Sana’a, Yemen (2014-2015) and Counsellor Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina (August 2015-2021).
Mr. Gudaro is the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria since 22 September 2023 with concurrent accreditation to Republic of Mali and Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
Mr. Gudaro likes to read books and to travel and explore the new horizons of the world.
He is married and has two Children- One Son and one Daughter.
