Ambassador Zaigham Uddin Azam made a courtesy call on the Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on 18 June 2014. Mr. Dung suggested that the two sides should further enhance  exchange of delegations to boost stronger cooperation in various fields. Mr. Dung expressed his pleasure at the Vietnam-Pakistan growing relations in recent years.

the Vietnamese Prime Minister also underscored the need to prioritize economic,  cooperation, making it commensurate with good political and diplomatic ties aiming to expand cooperation in health, culture, education, security and defense. He agreed with the proposal by Ambassador Zaigham Uddin Azam on accelerating the opening of a Vietnam-Pakistan direct air route, thereby promoting trade, investment and tourism. The Ambassador pledged his best efforts to bolster cooperation with Vietnam in all spheres.
