Ambassador of Pakistan Presents his Credentials in Suriname
During a graceful ceremony held in Paramaribo today, H.E. Najm us Saqib presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Suriname Hon. Desire Delano Bouterse as the Ambassador of Pakistan to Suriname.
In a one-on-one meeting with President Bouterse, the Ambassador conveyed best wishes from President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi which were warmly reciprocated. The President and the Ambassador expressed satisfaction over the existing cordial and friendly relations between Pakistan and Suriname while looking forward to deepening bilateral relations in different fields.
Earlier, the Ambassador held a detailed meeting with Foreign Minister Yldiz Beighle and agreed to broaden the base of bilateral political and diplomatic bilateral relations. The Foreign Minister accepted the offer of training of Surinamese diplomats at the prestigious Foreign Service Academy of Pakistan.
During his meeting with Suriname's Trade, Industry & Tourism Minister Ferdinand Welzijn today, both sides discussed the opportunities of cooperation in software development, milk processing, education, agriculture and agreed to exchange of trade delegations for identifying areas of cooperation between the two countries. Both sides also decided to explore additional avenues of cooperation between the two countries especially in the economic domain.
Pakistan and Suriname enjoy cordial and friendly relations. Both countries share views on international and regional issues and work closely in the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC).
Based in Brazil as the Ambassador of Pakistan, H.E. Najm us Saqib is concurrently accredited to Suriname, Guyana, Venezuela, Bolivia and Colombia.
