MR. SAHEBZADA A. KHAN
Ambassador Sahebzada A. Khan is a graduate of Pakistan Military Academy and served in a cavalry regiment till the rank of Captain, prior to joining the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1989.
During his diplomatic career, spanning over 32 years, he has worked on following assignments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Assistant Chief of Protocol, Assistant Director (UN), Assistant Director (SAARC), Director (General Services), Director (Foreign Minister’s Office), Director General (Foreign Minister’s Office), Director General (Economic Coordination & OIC), Director General (Middle East) and Chief of State Protocol.
Diplomatic assignments at Pakistan Missions abroad include:
1992-93: Vice-Consul, Pakistan Consulate-General, Mumbai, India.
1994-96: Vice-Consul, Pakistan Consulate-General, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
2001-03: First Secretary, Embassy of Pakistan, Yangon, Myanmar.
2004-06: Counsellor, Embassy of Pakistan, Oslo, Norway.
2009-12: Consul General of Pakistan, Toronto, Canada.
2012-15: Ambassador & Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, New York.
2018-19: Ambassador/High Commissioner for Pakistan to the United Kingdom.
2019-21: Ambassador to the Republic Cuba, with concurrent accreditation to Republic of Haiti, Republic of Nicaragua, Grenada and Honduras.
Ambassador Khan holds a Master’s degree in ‘International Public Policy and Politics’ from SAIS, Johns Hopkins University, United States.
He is married to Sara Khan and has two sons.
Ambassador Khan is an ardent golfer.
