Guidelines for Issuance/renewal of Machine Readable Passports (MRPs)
The Government of Pakistan has introduced Machine Readable Passport (MRP) facility for Pakistan Nationals at the Embassy of Pakistan Brasilia. All Pakistani Nationals living in Brazil and accredited countries Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela, possessing valid or expired Pakistani passports can apply for MRP subject to fulfilment of below mentioned requirements.
Physical presence is mandatory to apply for Machine Readable Passport
All applicants are required to apply in person for MRP at the Embassy. Processing of MRP application includes recording of biometric data (finger print scanning), photographing, recording the applicant’s personal data and interview for which personal presence is mandatory. For convenience, the applicants are advised to schedule an appointment though our online appointment system available on our website.
REQUIREMENTS:
The documents which are required to have a Machine Readable Passport are as under:
a. For Adults
i. Original old passport along with photocopy.
ii. Original valid CNIC / NICOP along with photocopy.
iii. Original Bank fee payment challan/slip.
iv. Original Visa / Resident Permit along with photocopy.
v. In case of Lost of Passport, original Police Report along with photocopy with prescribed fee.
vi. Marriage Certificate (in case of new marriage)
VII. 1 x latest photograph sized 45 mm high x 35 mm wide in white background
If there is a discrepancy between the information provided by the applicant and the data in NADRA’s database the applicant can rectify the information first in the NICOP before applying for MRP. The applicant will be required to produce documents like birth certificate, matriculation certificate, valid passport, or valid visa to prove or justify the change noticed in data from NADRA warehouse. In case of change of a female applicant’s name due to marriage, the applicant should have her NICOP/CNIC changed to the married name before applying for MRP showing the marital status on the Marriage Certificate
In case of Asylum-Seeker/refugee, MRP may be processed after verification of National Status/antecedents.
b. For Children under 18 Years
i. Original old Passport along with photocopy (if any).
ii. Original valid NICOP / CRC (B-Form) with photocopy.
iii Original Bank fee payment challan/slip.
iv. Original Visa / Resident Permit along with photocopy.
v. Parents original CNIC / NICOP along with photocopy.
vi. Parents original Passports and Visas / Resident Permit along with photocopy.
Vii. Marriage Certificate along with photocopy.
ix. In case of Lost of Passport, original Police Report along with photocopy with prescribed fee.
x. Children under age of 15 year cannot apply for 10 years validity passport.
Xi. 1 x latest photograph sized 45 mm high x 35 mm wide in white background

The Embassy does not accept cash payments. All types of fees are to be deposited in the below-mentioned official local currency account of the Embassy. All fees are non-refundable:

c) Renewal of MRP
Renewal of Machine Readable Passport has the same procedure as applying for new one with all required documents.
d) Requirements/Procedure For Lost MRP/Manual Passport:
Applications for lost passport are processed after verification of particulars by the passport issuing authority. Other requirements are:
e) Collection of Machine Readable Passports
MRP can be collected in person during working hours along with the token number (receipt) and Identification Card. Applicants need to collect their passports IN PERSON. However, one family member can come to collect the MRPs issued for all his / her family members.
If an applicant wants to have his passport through post, he may bring pre-paid self-addressed Return envelope with his home address, at the time of submission of application. (The Embassy will, however, not be responsible if passport is misplaced/lost by courier or post).
*The receipt of MRP from Islamabad sometimes is delayed due to technical problems.
All applicants are advised to collect their passports by the due date. The Embassy will not be responsible for misplacement if Passports are not collected within three months after the collection date.
IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE FOR MRP
Machine Readable Passport (MRP) services are entirely based on technical system, and sometimes that system can abruptly breakdown due to sudden unforeseen technical failure. In such situation, MRP services are discontinued without any notice. Therefore, applicants who come on that day to the Embassy for MRP will have to come on another day when the MRP system is restored and functional.
Cooperation of the applicants in such extra ordinary circumstances is highly appreciated.
(Note):: Pakistani nationals in Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela are obliged to register themselves with the Embassy.
Attestation of Documents/Declaration
Documents issued from Pakistan
In case the applicant needs a declaration for confirmation of his/her particulars (Name, date of birth, place of birth, name of father and mother) from the Embassy he/she needs to give an application (Please download Form-A), duly notarized, clearly stating the purpose for which it is required along with his relevant personal documents.
In case applicant wants to confirm his/her name of mother, he/she has to provide his/her birth certificate/FRC issued by NADRA reflecting his/her name of mother thereof.
Documents issued from Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela
The Embassy will only attest a document issued by authorities from Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana Suriname and Venezuela if it bears the prior attestation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective country.
The Embassy may refer any document to the authorities concerned for verification prior to its attestation.
VISA CHECK LIST
The Government of Pakistan is pleased to launch E-visa system for 179 countries including Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela. All types of visa applicants may apply for after creating login at the below-mentioned website and completion of all codal formalities as per category of visa requirements including uploading of relevant documents, photo, visa fee etc:
The Embassy may, however, ask to provide additional documents and/or for interview, as and when required.
All visa applicants are requested to apply for appropriate visa either online or in person.
VISIT VISA/TOURIST VISA
The applicant may submit his / her visa application along with below mentioned required documents in person at the Embassy, during working days, from 0900-1200 hours. The visa will be issued after interview of the applicant along with relevant laid down procedure.

In case a foreign wife wishes to visit Pakistan to meet/accompany her husband, copy of duly attested Nikah Nama/Marriage Certificate and CNIC/NICOP/POC/Passport of her husband is essential. In case, a couple wishes to take their child to Pakistan, birth certificate of the child and an affidavit both from the husband and wife attested by Notary Public is required.
BUSINESS VISA
Bonafide businessmen desirous of visiting Pakistan for business purposes, can submit their applications along with below mentioned requisite documents directly at the Embassy of Pakistan, Brasilia:
