Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi received British High Commissioner Thomas Drew at the Foreign Office. The two sides expressed satisfaction at the current trajectory of bilateral ties and agreed to further enhance relations in all areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral and regional issues, including the 4th Review of Pakistan-UK Enhanced Strategic Dialogue, which was held in London in June 2019.The Foreign Minister raised the issue of anti-Pakistan banners and unruly conduct of a certain group of spectators towards Pakistan cricket team and its players. He specifically highlighted that use of sports venues for malicious propaganda was unacceptable.

The Foreign Minister also briefed the British High Commissioner on the current political situation in Afghanistan. He said that peace and stability in Afghanistan was a shared responsibility and Pakistan would continue to support all efforts aimed at bringing peace and stability to Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Qureshi welcomed the visit of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Pakistan in autumn this year.

The High Commissioner assured of his government’s full support in enhancing bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest.
