The Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Mr. Sartaj Aziz received the German State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Mr. Markus Ederer and members of his delegation.

The Advisor expressed his satisfaction over Pakistan’s relations with Germany. Highlighting investment opportunities in Pakistan, he invited German investment in the country, especially in the field of renewable energy. He stated that German collaboration in development of vocational training institutions would be highly valuable. The Advisor also briefed the visiting delegation on the situation in the region and stressed that Pakistan had the vision of a peaceful neighborhood.

The State Secretary thanked the Advisor for his extensive and frank expose. He conveyed the condolences of the German government on the sad loss of life and property in the flooding in Pakistan. He stated that Germany was willing to assist Pakistan in disaster management. Pakistan and Germany could also collaborate in the fields of renewable energy.

The Advisor welcomed the German offer and expressed the hope that relations between the two countries will continue to flourish in future.

The talks were held in a frank and friendly atmosphere.
