The Ambassador-designate of Sweden, Ms. Ingrid Johansson, accompanied by the outgoing Ambassador Mr. Tomas Rosander, paid a courtesy call on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs (SAPM), Syed Tariq Fatemi, at the Foreign Office today.

Welcoming the Ambassador-designate to Pakistan, the SAPM assured her of all possible assistance in the discharge of her official duties. He also appreciated the outgoing Ambassador Rosander’s contribution towards promoting relations between Pakistan and Sweden.

The SAPM stressed the need for regular exchanges between the two sides in all areas of mutual interest, especially trade. He also briefed the Swedish side regarding the achievements of the Government in the field of counter-terrorism, as well as with regard to economy and good governance.

The Ambassador-designate stressed that Sweden attached high importance to its relations with Pakistan and she would continue to explore ways to further strengthen the bilateral ties in all areas. The outgoing Ambassador of Sweden, Amb. Rosander thanked the Government of Pakistan for the support extended to him during his tenure.
