The former Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh, Ambassador (rtd) Farooq Sobhan, called on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs (SAPM), Syed Tariq Fatemi, today.
The Special Assistant highlighted Prime Minister’s policy of peaceful neighborhood and his strong desire for building a constructive and forward-looking relationship with all regional countries. He underscored that improved relations between the countries of the region will unlock the enormous economic and geo-strategic potential of the region, through greater regional connectivity, and will help unite the region to face many new and emerging challenges and threats.
Ambassador (rtd) Sobhan, who is currently the President of Bangladesh Enterprise Insititute, welcomed the efforts of the Government of Pakistan for peace and stability in the entire region, and stressed that foreign policy analysts and academicians can play an important role in shaping government policies and public opinion, towards lasting peace in the region.
