A three days’ mourning was observed and national flag was flown at half-mast in memorial of 132 innocent children and ten staff members who were martyred by terrorists in a brutal attack on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan. Condolence book was also opened for signing. Many Ambassadors including US, Spain, Congo, Turkey, Russia, Germany, Malawi, India, France, Canada and Belgium signed the book and expressed their deep sorrows and condolences to aggrieved families. Besides, Ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and Brazil sent note verbales expressing their condolences. Quran Khwani was also held at the High Commission in collaboration with local Pakistani community and a candle light vigil was organized. Large number of Pakistanis, Tanzanian nationals and Friends of Pakistan attended the candle light vigils. Two leading local newspapers “The Guardian” and “Daily News” covered the event and reported in their news papers. In addition IBN TV made a documentary of 30 minutes of candle vigil and broadcasted on 23.12.2014 with commentary.
The principal of Genesis school and kids from the US sponsored Access program and Genesis also visited Pakistan High Commission on Monday, 22nd December 2014 and presented the condolence letter and showed their solidarity with the martyred innocent children and staff members of Peshawar Army School.
