Celebration of Pakistan Day-23rd March, 2018

Pakistan Day was celebrated on 23rd March, 2018 by the Embassy of Pakistan in Lisbon. A large number of Pakistani community members including women and children witnessed the flag hoisting ceremony at the Chancery. The messages of the President and Prime Minister were read out on the occasion.

Later at evening, Pakistan Day Reception was held at the Marriot Hotel, Lisbon. The special feature of the event was the inclusion of Pakistan food festival and presentation on the theme of ‘Vibrant Pakistan’. A good number of guests from diverse walks of life including members of the Portugal-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship group, Armed Forces, Diplomatic Corps, Academia, Media, Civil Society and Foreign Ministry participated.

Charge d’Affaires Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Khan cut ‘Pakistan Day Cake’ with Ms.Idalia Serrao, member of the Parliament and Ambassador Pedro Costa, Director General External Policy. The Charge d’Affaires also addressed the gathering highlighting the warm and cordial relations between Pakistan and the Portuguese Republic and the recent positive developments taking place in Pakistan.

The Participants appreciated Pakistan’s food and the display of vibrant Pakistan presentation.
