The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Mr. Sun Weidong, called on the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, at the Foreign Office today to present a cheque of Rs.2.0 million raised by the Chinese Embassy staff for the victims of recent flooding in Pakistan.

The Chinese Ambassador condoled with the Foreign Secretary over the massive loss of life and property caused by the flood.

The Foreign Secretary thanked the Chinese Ambassador for the gesture and said he was touched by the Chinese Embassy’s generosity. He noted that China is the first country to extend funds for victims of the recent floods in the country. The gesture underscores the great affection between the peoples of both countries and the monumental strength and deep roots of the Pakistan-China friendship.
