Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Foreign Minister Wang Yi have sent support, sympathy and condolence messages to their Pakistani counterparts on the recent earthquake calamity in Pakistan.
Highlighting the all-weather strategic cooperation between China and Pakistan, President Xi wrote to President Mamnoon Hussain that the two countries are partners in “weal and woe”. He said that Chinese people feel the same pain suffered by the Pakistani people and offered to provide support and assistance.
Premier Li Keqiang in his message to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, while offering condolences and sympathy for the earthquake affectees, also indicated willingness to do utmost to provide support and assistance to Pakistan. Writing to the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Foreign Minister Yi conveyed deep condolences and sympathies to the victims and affectees of the earthquake. He expressed the view that though the government and people of Pakistan are bound to overcome the disaster, the Chinese side was willing to support and assist the relief efforts.
