The Chinese Vice-Minister of the International Cooperation Department of Communist Party of China (CPC) H.E. Mr. Ai Ping called on the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Mr. Sartaj Aziz on 18 February 2014 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Adviser while welcoming the Chinese Vice Minister stated that friendship with China is one of the most important pillars of Pakistan’s foreign policy and in this perspective Pakistan and China enjoy unique relations that are exemplary in the contemporary era of inter-state relations. He underscored that leadership of the two countries was according high priority to further strengthening economic relations.
The Adviser mentioned that the President of Pakistan was currently undertaking visit to China during which the 2nd meeting of Joint Coordination Committee would take place. He said that cooperation between the two countries in infrastructure, energy and communication network linking western regions of China and Pakistan had the potential to change the economic landscape of this region.
The Chinese Vice Minister H.E. Mr. Ai Ping stated that “all weather” friendship between the two countries focusing on economic relations was moving in the right direction. He expressed that Pakistan and China were time-tested friends. He added that interaction between the political parties of Pakistan and Communist Party of China would strengthen people to people contacts and further enhance close cooperation between the two countries.
