The WHO has declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Currently, the Government is making all-out efforts to deal with a rapidly evolving situation which is a challenge, not only for Pakistan but the whole world – and ensuring that we take proactive, comprehensive and coordinated steps to bring back our nationals who wish to return to Pakistan.
The following policies are currently in effect. Please view the guidelines page for more detailed SOPs. Please note that these policies/SOPs are liable to change according to the evolving situation without prior notice.
Inbound International Passenger Flights
Starting 20th June, all airlines that routinely fly to Pakistan would be allowed to operate inbound traffic to Pakistan, with roughly 250-300 inbound flights per week across the country.
There will be no meet and greet at the airport as per current SOPs, and only one person will be allowed to receive the passengers from parking.
Ticket booking is to be de-regularized as per standard commercial operations, and do not need to be booked through embassies. Limited special flights will continue to be operated to ensure repatriation of Pakistanis from countries with closed air spaces.
Passengers will undergo heightened screening at established health desks upon arrival to the airport. Screening will be carried out using thermal gun, thermal scanners and reviews by health professionals.
Each passenger must submit a signed Passenger Health Form (signed during the flight or upon arrival) before leaving the airport to ensure record keeping of inbound passengers, and confirming their willingness to abide by quarantine/home-isolation protocols.
o Negative cases are to be sent home and tracked and traced by provinces accordingly.
o Positive cases belonging to province of residence will be handled as per health protocols (either home quarantined or treated as per medical guidelines). Positive cases belonging to other provinces must be quarantined for a 14-day period by the province of arrival, and cannot be allowed to travel before completion of prescribed period.
